Rocco Bruno, from Italy came to the US from Italy. He played trumpet in various groups in the Boston area and

would become a master piano maker at Mason & Hamlin in Boston.

Of the 4 children Rocco and Mary Bruno had, All would become musicians. Tony Bruno played all brass, orchestral percussion, accordian and was a virtuosso pianist and would become New Englands' most celebrated popular music orchestra and band leader from the 30's to the early 80's. Brother Joe a clarinetist, and sister Carmel was an organist

at the Statler Hilton for over 50 years. Tonys other brother Lando's son Jack Bruno has been on tour as the drummer

for Tina Turner since 1979 and Joe Cocker since the 90's.

Today, in Sarasota and surrounding communities throughout Florida, the Bruno Connection is made up of three generations of musicians, Joe Bruno Sr. Trumpet, Joe Bruno Jr. Bass, Christine Allen-Bruno Piano/Keyboards and

Nick Bruno, who is following in the footsteps of great grandfather, Maestro Tony Bruno. Nick is an accomplished percussionist who also plays tuba, trombone, euphonium, trumpet and piano.
